Das Leben der Anderen

Jennifer Brae tells us her story about her life with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). This systemic neuroimmune condition affects 15-30 million people worldwide and about 300.000 in Germany and is characterized by a reduction in functioning and a severe worsening of symptoms after even minimal exertion.

In Germany and other countries ME is known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and for many years this disease was treated as a psychological condition. This is about to change as consistent biological abnormalities can be demonstrated today in research settings, helping patients to prove that it´s not just all in their heads.

Thanks Jennifer to make me understand!

Extreme Living – How I Iive with ataxia

Gunnhild from Norwegian is an excellent writer as well as a constant fighter for treatment, therapies and a life with and beyond Friedreich Ataxia.

In her blog Extreme Living she shows how she manages der daily life with the disease.

When the substance interferon gamma-1b (Actimmune) failed to prove it´s workability in the treatment of Friedreich Ataxia she gathered stories from people around the world, showing that the treatment helped them a lot and made them feel better.  Interferon Gamma works for Friedreich Ataxia.

She inspires me to never give up the fight!
